Welcome Kingdom Camera Rentals
« on: Aug. 05, 2012 01:40 PM »
The Magic in Pixels is proud to announce that we have partnered with Kingdom Camera Rentals.

Kingdom Camera Rentals is a new Orlando-based company that rents camera equipment to families visiting the theme parks. However, unlike other rental companies, they bring the equipment right to you at your resort so there is no shipping and receiving involved.

Kingdom Camera Rentals is sure to be a huge asset for members of The Magic in Pixels, as you can now rent additional equipment in a much more convenient manner.

I had an opportunity to meet Lenise and her sons and test out a few pieces of equipment. I tested the Canon 7D, the 70–200 f/2.8, and the 50mm f/1.2.  All of the equipment was virtually brand new and in beautiful condition and worked perfectly.

Kingdom Camera Rentals is in its infancy but new equipment is coming all the time.  Please head over to kingdomcamerarentals.com and tell them Tim sent you!

They should start renting out iPod Touches or maybe iPad Minis with My Disney Experience with FastPass coming out next year.

You know, for the guests who don't have smartphones running iOS 6 or Ice Cream Sandwich/Jelly Bean.  Just a thought.

Actually they are trying to get people away from using iPhones and iPods as cameras and get them using real cameras for photography.  But hey, if it works then absolutely they should do it.

This sounds like a great deal for trying something out for a few days in the middle of a long visit to the World.  I hope they have lots of equipment available for early December!

I'll wish them luck on that but my gut tells me that ship has sailed.  I really think the new paradigm is cell phone camera to mirrorless interchangable, with only true pros using a mirrored SLR in the future.  (look and see what kind of 35mm cameras you can still buy from Nikon and Canon...what were the last ones made?)

If mirrorless interchangeable is the way to go, then all they need to do is to stock up on some of them.  I am really considering the canon eos-m when it comes out.

Neat idea, and nice to have a local camera rental place for frequent Disney travelers.

I'd strongly suggest to them they consider adding some other camera lines - they seem to only represent Nikon & Canon DSLR lines at this time...but hey, gotta start somewhere and those are the two largest!  Add some Sony Alpha and Pentax K support, and maybe add in some mirrorless line support (starting maybe with M4:3 and NEX, being the two largest) as they are indeed very growing systems and very capable, and I'm sure some of the larger or more expensive speciatly mirrorless lenses would see strong rental demand.

I would not be surprised if mirrorless systems answer the lineup very soon.

Another nice option to have.  I might need to something different for Pixelmania!

I like the idea of delivery right to the resort.  I'll have to check them out.

Suggestion for Kingdom Camera Rentals, Since i know they have a member around here.

When I look at lenses I see Canon and Nikon.. Give me a way to sort the list. Exclude what I don't want to see (Nikon)
