New update:  There will be no F1 race in New Jersey in 2013.

Old update: They re-revised their photo standards - all still cameras allowed!  No restrictions on lens size!  Just don't bring a camcorder!

so will they be checking all the dslr for video capability? and besides, with speed channel now fox sports, and rumors running wild in the world of motorsports about little coverage there will be, including it being pretty much a given no F1 at all, now homemade video means no us video exposure at all. not the best way to sell your product to sponsors, and don't tell me the us audience isn't sophisticated enough to appreciate f1.

I have to thank you guys that are into this as I know pretty much nothing about auto racing at all but I am intrigued about this race in NJ (being right here myself).  I guess I can wait.

NBC has F1 as of 1/1.  So Speed has this year's race.

But to answer your first question - no, they are not going to be checking cameras and cellphones for video capabilities.
