Here's my SSE POTD shot at 12mm (which converts to 18mm on my D70s).  Click on the picture to get exposure details from Flickr.

13mm, very strong backlighting - in-camera HDR with two frames - I just liked the way the backlighting made the sky and SSE almost take on a metallic silver tint or feel, that I wanted to capture:

Very nice Justin.  I really like the way the sun is starting to creep around the edge of SSE.

The HDR works very well in this shot.

Regards,

Boris

Thanks Boris.

And nice one Dennis - I must have posted from the last page as I didn't see yours initially.  I love using the fountain in the foreground - I've tried that in the past, but only with my 18mm lens.  I need to get back and try that one with the 10-24.  This trip, I never made it down that end at night, as I stayed circling World Showcase.

Great shots guys!

Justin, I agree with the look of metallic tones.  Nice catch.

Dennis, This is a great angle with wonderful colors.  Nice work.

Thanks, everyone.  It was Tom's shots of SSE that inspired me to invest in the Tokina 11-16mm.

Here's one from the end of the planter.  The severe cold weather killed the poinsettias so they replaced them the night before with something a little more cold hardy...

Not sure how I feel about this shot (I have one without the trash can and sign on the right...but I sort of like them included for some reason...yet I think they make it too busy...)

Click it for Flickr!

Interesting angle, Tom.  The trash can and sign don't bother me much at all.

Interesting angle, Tom.  The trash can and sign don't bother me much at all.

Thanks.  After much thinking, I ultimately determined that I didn't like this shot with the trash can and sign in view.  It seems like they are just crammed in, for no real compositional reason.  I like to be more deliberate than that, usually.  Although it was fairly popular on Flickr, you never can tell whether people genuinely like an image, or if they're just being nice.  I will have to post the non-trash can & sign version at some point (I should've just edited them together...).
