Yours for only $3499!

This time Canon includes the full pro-AF as included with the EOS-1DX, built in HDR, wireless radio transmitter (this is new), 6fps, weather sealing... it's basically finally a full pro level body without a vertical grip built-in.

  • i be a fireman's, where my hose at????
yeah well i could do without the direct print button, and once again canon disregards the pre production reviews, all the ones i read flamed canon once again over the lack of an easy way to lock up the mirror. but having said that, i have spent since 0800 this morning reading every review of the preproduction models i could find online. and i then did something i have never ever done before, that's right i clicked on through to b&h and preordered a very expensive camera that's not even available yet. why you ask? well this is the upgraded auto focus system that i've been waiting for, in a body i want, i anticipate doing some more motor sports shooting this year, and i was even considering a 7d body just for that reason. but now it seems my needs are being met. so if this is in my hands by 7/1 it'll be ready for mid july motorcycle racing, maybe some sprint cars. and this will be making the trip to pixelmania for certain. i'm pretty sure b&h wouldn't be accepting orders already if they did not have some sort of firm delivery schedule, i don't know where i am on the waiting list, but maybe since i ordered so fast i won't be too far down the list

I may be following your lead Gary.  One feature I was hoping for in this camera is the ability to move the spot metering from the center area to another AF point. The 1DX has it, but I don't think I care to spend another $3000+ for that capability.

I will be posting a B&H preorder link shortly.  Stand by!

I very well may forego the 1dx in lieu of the 5d3.
