Hitchhiking Ghosts

One of the “impromptu” meets that Pixelmania is known for happened this past year.  We had just gotten off the Liberty Belle and the stand-by line for The Haunted Mansion was only 10 minutes so our group decided to take a little tour through the land of 999 Happy Haunts.

The Haunted Mansion really puts the autofocus of my camera to the test, and I have a top of the line body with 61 autofocus points that can all run at the same time.  This version of the Hitchhiking Ghosts is a little more difficult to capture than the older version since there is slightly less contrast than the older version – but the animation is FAR superior in the current iteration.  The new hitchhiking ghosts have much better color and animation.

As the ride was nearing the end, our Doombuggy stopped right in front of the Hitchhiking Ghosts, giving me a perfect opportunity to get a shot of Ezra, Phineas, and Gus (you DID know that was their names, right?).  My buddies who were in the ‘buggy in front of me heard me blasting away and threw a few choice words back toward me, in good humor of course.

I had gotten some pretty awesome shots of the hitchhiking ghosts in the past but since the buggy was stopped I was able to really take my time and dial it in just the way I wanted it.  This shot of the hitchhiking ghosts is going on the wall in my office at home!

EQUIPMENT USED FOR THIS SHOT:

Canon 1Dx

Canon 28 f/1.8
