KINGDOM CAMERA RENTALS
A review of the Kingdom Camera Rentals service.
Kingdom Camera Rentals is a relative newcomer to the photographic equipment rental scene. Based in the Orlando area, Kingdom Camera Rentals’ goal is to simply your travel process while allowing you to have the most possible fun on vacation. They understand that buying and transporting good photographic equipment can be both very expensive and can be a major hassle, especially if you are travelling with small children. Airline baggage restrictions further complicate this and Kingdom Camera Rentals is there to help you resolve these issues.
I recently had the opportunity to meet one of the owners of Kingdom Camera Rentals, Lenise Zika, on a recent trip to Walt Disney World and it was immediately clear that she believed in her company’s products and services. Lenise told me that she is noticing “many people are starting to rely on their cell phone cameras and iPods while on vacation to take their family pictures. While there is nothing wrong with that, they are missing out on how much fun and excitement can be had from using awesome camera equipment while on vacation, not to mention how much better their precious memories can be with some cool camera gear!”
Lenise gave me some insight on how the rental process works, from sign up to delivery of the equipment to the final return of the gear. What impressed me the most is the level of detail and care that goes into this process. After placing an order with Kingdom Camera Rentals, you then travel to the Walt Disney World area and your gear will arrive at your Resort at a pre-arranged date and time, FREE OF CHARGE. Simple as that! As a matter of fact, it is SO simple that I couldn’t believe that nobody else had thought of it already. When I asked Lenise why she handles the delivery of the equipment in such a manner, she told me that it gives them a chance to meet their clients and also assists the clients by eliminating delivery costs and hassles and removes the need to pack and travel to and from Orlando with the newly rented gear.
All of the “paperwork” regarding the rental is done via a custom designed iPhone optimized website. After you take acceptance of your order, there are several toggle switches that you set on their iPhone (mostly Yes and No questions) then you sign the bottom of the page with your finger and you are instantly emailed a confirmation of what you just signed. This was an extremely simple and elegant way of handling the rental paperwork.
On the day that I met Lenise, she was accompanied by her sons, Ian and Jeff. It was refreshing to see how well the family business functioned as opposed to the faceless, nameless people that so often accompany travel. Lenise was gracious enough to allow me to borrow the following kit, in an effort to get to know Kingdom Camera Rentals and their products: Canon 7d, Canon 70-200 f/2.8L, Canon 8-15 f/4L fisheye, and Canon 50mm f/1.2L. What instantly blew my mind was how clear and new looking the equipment was; in fact, it looked like it was brand new right out of the box! Each piece of equipment was well packed in high quality Lowepro camera bags to ensure maximum protection. Perhaps the coolest feature, and the one that showed me how serious and Kingdom Camera Rentals’ dedication to success, was the custom monogrammed neck strap that featured their logo. Sometimes its the simple things that show clients how serious you are and this is certainly no exception.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed using their equipment to make some awesome photos, what impressed me the most were the people. As previous mentioned, Lenise, Ian, and Jeff take a lot of pride in their family business and I was also able to meet another member of the team, Christine Leblanc Sellers, on our last day of the trip. Christine was a lot of fun to speak with and is a very talented photographer and certainly adds to the value of the team.
I have rented gear from other companies and strongly feel that Kingdom Camera Rentals provided the best value and customer service for photography enthusiasts traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort. I encourage to check out their website, www.kingdomcamerarentals.com, or contact them by phone 855-KCR-8555, or by email at email@example.com. Kingdom Camera Rentals’ website features lots of tips and suggestions on how and where to take photos while in the Disney Parks, along with a fun blog that offers lots of insight and editorial content. Kingdom Camera Rentals is located at 221 NE Ivanhoe Blvd, Orlando, FL, 32804.
Kingdom Camera Rentals is a gracious sponsor of Pixelmania 2012. In fact, if you are attending, you can save some money on your rentals by using the code pixelmania when you place your order.
