JL Knopp from The Disney Driven Life wanted to see a little kid wearing Mickey Ears so let’s go back in the archives to December, 2006, when my son Billy had his first haircut in the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street, USA. Billy was ten months old at the time, which seems like an eternity ago, since he is now four and a half. After his stylist (Mary) finished his haircut, he was presented with a custom pair of “first haircut” Mickey Ears, along with a certificate to commemorate the event, along with the requisite locks of saved hair as a memento of the occasion. It really was a big deal to us, as we also were joined by my best friend as his wife who happened to be in Disney at the same time as us along with a few of our other friends as well. Having you first child’s first haircut at Harmony Barber Shop is something that all parents should try to experience; it’s another one of those “little things” that Disney does so well and others fall far short with.
As a side note, I went back a re-processed the original .cr2 file (raw) and applied a “Dave Hill” type effect to the photo, which desaturates the image and adds a very slight blur while keeping the eyes very sharp. For this image, I think it looks really cool. What do you think? Leave your comments below!
